J’adore assister à ce salon du design intérieur ! C’est l’occasion de voir des installations dans des endroits auxquels vous n’auriez peut être pas eu accès. Beaucoup d’enseignes louent des hangars ou villas pour exposer leur mobilier. C’est génial car on a l’impression d’entrer chez quelqu’un (qui a de très bons goûts). Tenez par exemple l’année dernière Hermès exposaient au Palazzo Serbelloni tandis que Marteen Baas prenait possession du Garage San Remo dans le vieux Milan. Que faire ? Les professionnels se rendront forcément à la Fiera (congrès d’exposition mais pour cela il vous faut un badge) quant à vous, vous déambulerez dans les rues de la ville à la recherche d’événements dits, « fuori salone ». Les incontournables sont : rue Solferino (c’est là que j’ai rencontré l’artiste jamaïcain Hugh Findletar), la cour intérieure de l’Università Statale qui propose chaque année de très belles installations visuelles, Rossana Orlandi (parce que tous les designers y traînent et que c’est l’adresse la plus cool de Milan). Pour déjeuner, goûter, dîner, je vous conseille de traîner vers : Ceresio 7, 10 Corso Como, Lateria, N’Ombra del Vin. Cette année, j’y retourne! I love going to this interior design show! It’s the occasion to see installations in places you probably would never have had access to otherwise. Many companies rent hangars or villas to showcase their furniture. It’s great because you have the feeling you are entering somebody’s home (with excellent taste, incidently). For example, last year, Hermès showcased at the Palazzo Serbelloni, whereas Marteen Baas took over the Garage San Remo in the old part of Milano. What to do? The professionals will probably go to the Fiera (exhibition congress, but you need a badge for that), and you, well you might just wander around the city streets, in search for an event “fuori salone”, as they call it. The unmissables are: rue Solferino (that’s where I met the Jamaican artist Hugh Findletar), the Università Statale’s interior court that offers each year some beautiful visual installations, Rossana Orlandi (because all the designers hang there and because it’s the coolest address in town).
