Septembre. Argh. Je sais. Et la liste qui va avec est longue : retour de vacances, la routine, le travail, le réveil, le stress pour certains, la fin d’une romance pour d’autres. Bref, l’angoisse. A Monaco c’est pourtant mon mois préféré. C’est la fin de la haute saison. En d’autres termes : bye bye les poules, bye bye les russes (et vous me direz ça va souvent de pair). Avant de se lancer dans l’énumération des bons plans monégasques, on n’oublie pas de remercier au passage Charles III (10° prince de Monaco) qui eut la brillante idée d’ouvrir un casino et de supprimer les impôts en principauté. Ajoutez à cela un mariage hollywoodien entre le Prince Rainier III et l’actrice américaine Grace Kelly et ça donne une arrivée massive de riches européens & de jet-setteurs internationaux. Welcome to Monte-Carlo, babe !

September. Argh. I know. And the list goes on: it’s time to come back from your holidays, to get back in your routine, to work, to get up in the morning, to stress for many, or to end a summer romance for others. Just thinking of it gives me anxiety. But strangely enough, September is the month of the year that I prefer the most in Monaco. It’s the end of the high season. In other words: bye bye chicks, bye bye Russians (and both usually go hand in hand). Before enumerating all my favorite places and things to do here, let’s just take minute to thank Charles III (10th prince of Monaco), who had the brilliant idea to open a casino and to abolish taxes in the Principality. Add to that a Hollywood-like wedding between the Prince Rainier III and the American actress Grace Kelly, and you get a massive flow of rich Europeans and international jet setters.
