Départ 08.30 de l’hôtel, dépose maman chez le coiffeur (lissage brésilien moitié prix), continue en taxi jusqu’au pied de Pedra Bonita, monte une route plus-que-pentue pendant 30 minutes (renforcement du mollet garanti), pense à respirer (vous comprendrez une fois sur place), retrouve ton groupe d’amis qui t’attends depuis 45 minutes (rythme brésilien oblige) et commence ENFIN le trek. Si vous avez le temps je vous conseille vraiment de le faire. C’est un parcours facile, on croise pas mal de monde et une fois au sommet, la vue est IN-CRO-YA-BLE. La descente vous pouvez la faire en delta-plane ou parapente et arriver directement sur la plage de Sao Conrado. L’avantage c’est que vous atterrissez juste en face de Fashion Mall, un superbe et luxueux centre commercial (de rien les filles) se trouvant lui-même à quelques rues de l’entrée de Rocinha (plus grande favela d’Amérique Latine – 200 000 habitants). A Rio, tout le monde cohabite. Ca peut d’ailleurs surprendre.

8:30 am – Departure from the hotel, drop off mom at the hairdressers’ (Brazilian hair straightening for half the price), continue with the taxi until Pedro Bonita, climb up a road steeper-than-steep for 30 minutes (calf strengthener for sure), think of breathing (you will understand better if you get there), find your group of friends that has been waiting for you for the past 45 minutes (Brazilian rhythm…sorry guys), and FINALLY start the trek. If you have the time, I really think you should do it. It’s an easy walk, you meet all sorts of people, and once you are at the top, the view is IN-CRE-DI-BLE. You can hand glide or paraglide your way down, and land directly on the Sao Conrado beach. The advantage, is that you land just in front of the Fashion Mall, which is a superb and luxurious shopping center (you’re welcome ladies), located just a few streets away from the Rocinha entrance (the largest favela in Latin America – 200 000 inhabitants). In Rio, everyone cohabitates. It could surprise you actually.
