Car vous savez ce qu’on dit : PLACE TO BE !

Philippe is Canadian, a London resident, occasionally a model and full-time designer. His creations are magnificent, W Hotels recently awarded him the prize of “Designer of the Future” and Wallpaper that of “Best Use of Material”. Always dressed in Rick Owens (and that’s when he explodes the meter of points) he channels perfectly East London where his studio is located. Nothing surprising when we consider the fact that, it is there that the best galleries and architect’s studios of the capital are located. Every conscientious designer lives there, lunches, has dinner and parties. I thus recommend you to follow his smart advice and to quickly explore the East. Because you know what we say: PLACE TO BE!

1) A café: Climpson and Sons on Broadway Market. 2) A restaurant: A little of What You Fancy on Kingsland road. 3) A gallery: Definitely Maureen Paley and Herald Street Gallery both in Bethnal Green. 4) Favorite tourist spot: Uhmmm…the South Bank. 5) A pub: My neighbourhood pub in Stoke Newington called The 3 Crowns. 6) Where to party: Oval Space has good events, but it’s not a club. Otherwise, Dalston Superstore sometimes. 7) An artist: Peter McDonald and Simon Popper (I bought a painting from him. I love his work). 8) Place which relaxes you: Clissold Park in Stoke Newington. 9) Place to listen to some music? XOYO has good gigs. 10) An event? Glastonbury definitely. 11) Hidden address: Vogue Fabrics on Stoke Newington High Street. Sometimes really nice! 12) Must-shop: Dover Street Market. 13) A market: Borough Market.
